The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) oversees operational financial transactions and acquisitions, ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Collaborating with the CEO, Vice President, Board of Directors, and other executive leaders, the CFO plays a key role in strategic decision-making, and is responsible for establishing crucial financial metrics and processes essential for the success of the business and organization.  As the senior financial professional, the CFO will build and guide a high-performing finance and accounting team, serving as  the primary source of technical financial advice and guidance. The CFO will also direct the management of the company’s diverse investment portfolio.

Based in Pittsfield, ME, the CFO reports to the CEO and requires in-office work. 10-20% travel throughout the US.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 15 years of advancing financial leadership positions in global companies or divisions of larger corporations with revenues exceeding $700 million
  • Demonstrated track record as a CFO or senior financial executive, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial principles, GAAP, regulations, and best practices.
  • Highly proficient in handling contracts, job costs, and other financial reporting mechanisms.
  • Preferred experience in identifying, acquiring, and implementing ERP systems.
  • Effective negotiation skills, adept understanding of contractual issues
  • Strategic mindset 
  • Proven success in managing a diverse company investment portfolio
