Brann & Isaacson is a thriving and growing law practice representing businesses throughout the world in state and local tax matters, and escheat matters in the US. We seek to add a Tax Paralegal to our team to better serve our client’s needs. This position offers an opportunity to work on sophisticated local, state and national tax matters, provide full-time analytical support for our firm’s state and local tax practice, and to potentially assist other corporate practice areas as needed.

Responsibilities of the Tax Paralegal will vary day to day but include assisting attorneys in defending audits; state and local tax law research; data collection and analysis for state and local tax audits; drafting responses to audit information requests; interviews of clients and interactions with clients’ accounting/tax and finance departments; and communication with state and local tax department.

Position Requirements:

  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong mathematical skills and an understanding of financial workpapers and other financial statements.
  • Experience with tax audits or as an administrative/legal assistant strongly preferred.
  • Advanced skill level in Excel, Word, and PDF software essential.
  • Bachelors degree or other post-secondary education preferred.
