The Ellsworth Historical Society seeks a Volunteer Treasurer to serve in a strategic advisory & Board leadership role for a growing nonprofit with a strong financial foundation & collaborative leadership team. This role focuses on governance, financial strategy, sustainability & long range planning and  budgeting. Bookkeeping, reconciliations, bill paying, day-to-day financial tracking & grant management are handled by the Asst. Treasurer together with CPA-level accounting support using QuickBooks.

EHS is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Ellsworth and Hancock County. The organization is debt-free, operates without spending capital, responsibly manages investments and restricted funds, and has a successful record of acquiring and managing grants with full accountability. Individuals with financial planning, banking, investment, advisory, or nonprofit finance experience who enjoy big-picture thinking and helping healthy organizations strengthen long-term sustainability and growth are encouraged to apply to  join a capable and enjoyable Board and help shape the future of an important local cultural organization.
